Is this about integration of a certain kind of existing tutor (e.g. launching Khanmingo or Mathia from LC and capturing some data) or building something new?

@Jim Goodell great question! LearnCard already has support for launching an external tutor via integration (i.e. Khanmigo, etc).
This ticket represents LearnCard having its own internal tutor as an option for users to supplement their learning. It's part of our broader push to make LearnCard immediately useful for a learner without prerequisites / external integrations (although, of course, those are valuable when added!)

@Jacksón Smith Sounds cool! I think you’ll need a full learning engineering team to pull this off well, including learning scientist, subject matter pedagogical expert(s), and learning analytics expert. Research is showing that learning is not enhanced by just making a general purpose LLM chat bot available; it takes tempering with RAG pedagogical models and other AI with correctness models to catch hallucinations, control when to and not give answers, when and what scaffolding questions to ask to keep learners in the zone of proximal development.
